Purposes of using the LinkedIn page

We use the LinkedIn page to make this online service available to you in order to pursue our legitimate interests (corporate presentation / public relations).

1. Data processed by LinkedIn

The LinkedIn page is an online presence within the LinkedIn platform, which is provided by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland (hereinafter ‘LinkedIn’).

Similarly, we have no knowledge of the content of the data you transmit to LinkedIn and cannot provide any information regarding which data relating to you is stored as a result of your use of the LinkedIn service.

When you use LinkedIn, your personal data is collected, transferred, stored, disclosed and used by LinkedIn Corporation. In doing so, LinkedIn transfers your data to the United States of America (USA) and back. Currently, LinkedIn’s data centres for storing its members’ information are located in the USA and Singapore. In addition to the data you enter voluntarily, such as profile, login, contact and calendar details, LinkedIn also collects and processes, for example, location and device information, as well as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. LinkedIn states that it uses your personal data to provide you with further services (including advertisements), using, amongst other things, automated systems and its own conclusions, and to tailor these services so that they are more relevant and useful to you and others. For this purpose, LinkedIn may also combine data internally via various services covered by its privacy policy (for details, see: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy#use ). LinkedIn does not provide a clear and definitive explanation of how it uses data from visits to LinkedIn pages for its own purposes, to what extent activities on the LinkedIn page are attributed to individual users, how long LinkedIn stores this data, or whether data from a visit to the LinkedIn page is passed on to third parties; we are not aware of this information.

Furthermore, LinkedIn states that it may use the services of third parties (partner companies and external service providers) to assist it in providing its services (for example, maintenance, analysis, auditing, payment, fraud detection, marketing and development). These third parties have access to your information to the extent reasonably necessary to carry out the relevant tasks on LinkedIn’s behalf and are obliged not to disclose your information or use it for any other purposes. Should third-party services be used by LinkedIn for our LinkedIn page, we have neither commissioned nor approved this, nor have we supported it in any way. The personal data obtained during the analysis are not made available to us. We can only view certain non-personal, aggregated information about activity – such as the number of profile or link clicks on a specific post or page – via your account. Furthermore, we have no means of preventing or stopping the use of such services on its LinkedIn page.

Finally, LinkedIn also receives information when you, for example, view content, even if you have not created an account (e.g. via a public LinkedIn profile). This so-called ‘log data’ may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, information about the website you visited previously and the pages you have accessed, your location, your mobile network provider, the device you are using (including device ID and application ID), the search terms you have used, and cookie information.

Through LinkedIn buttons or widgets embedded in websites and the use of cookies, LinkedIn is able to track your visits to these websites and associate them with your LinkedIn profile. This data can be used to offer you personalized content or advertising.You can restrict the processing and visibility of your data via the ‘Settings and Privacy’ section in your account navigation, under the various menu options listed there.

Please also bear in mind that, by default setting, principally all information you provide in your profile is publicly visible; this means that members who log in to the network, as well as customers of LinkedIn’s services, can view it. This also applies to your activities within the service, such as comments on posts, ‘Likes’ or the ‘Follow’ function. Group memberships are also publicly visible.

When you share posts, the default setting is that this happens publicly. In the options, you can restrict the visibility of these posts to your contacts. You can also specify in LinkedIn’s settings whether you wish to share your contact list with all your contacts. Data processed by us

We also process your data. Whilst we do not collect any data directly via your LinkedIn account, the data you enter on LinkedIn – in particular your username and the content published under your account – is processed by us insofar as we may share or comment on your posts, or create posts ourselves that refer to your account. The data you have freely published and shared on LinkedIn is thus incorporated into our service and made available to its visitors.

Furthermore, as the provider of our LinkedIn page, we do not collect or process any personal data arising from your use of our service. The page is intended solely for information and communication purposes.

Joint controllership and data subjects’ rights

We are jointly responsible with LinkedIn for certain processing operations involving the personal data of users of the LinkedIn page and have entered into a specific agreement with LinkedIn for this purpose. This concerns the use of data collected by LinkedIn to provide it in anonymized form in statistics to the operators of LinkedIn pages. Further information on which data is included in the statistics can be found in the aforementioned agreement.

This agreement also stipulates that LinkedIn is primarily responsible for data processing and that we do not have access to individual users’ data, but can only retrieve aggregated statistics, such as gender or age distribution. Furthermore, LinkedIn undertakes to respect data subjects’ rights and, for example, to respond to requests for information, objections or erasure.

To exercise your data subject rights (see below), please contact LinkedIn directly regarding the processing of your data by LinkedIn. The joint controller agreement entered with LinkedIn stipulates that the Irish Data Protection Commission is the lead supervisory authority responsible for overseeing the processing under joint responsibility. Visitors to the LinkedIn page have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission, in addition to the supervisory authority responsible for us.

Disclosure of personal data to third parties / transfers to third countries

We do not disclose your personal data to third parties. Please note, however, that any data you enter on our page is visible to all visitors. If you do not wish this to be the case, you may use alternative methods of contacting us. Personal data may also be transferred to the USA or to other third countries. When you use Instagram, your personal data is collected, transferred, stored, disclosed and used by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. Furthermore, on mobile devices (smartphones, tablets), you can use the settings on these devices to restrict Meta’s access to your contact and calendar details, photos, location data and so on. However, this depends on the operating system you are using.

Data processed by us

We also process your data for the purpose of communication, primarily to respond to user comments on our page, but also to send private messages and to share, like or tag third-party content.

Meta provides us with anonymized statistical data on visitors to the Instagram account via the ‘Insights’ service. To this end, Meta stores cookies on users’ devices. If users are logged in to Instagram, this cookie may be linked to their respective user account. If Instagram is used on multiple devices, data collection and analysis may also take place across devices. Meta provides the information it collects in the form of aggregated, anonymized data, which we can use to analyse how users interact with the Instagram account. However, we do not have access to the data used for these analyses.

We do not store or process your data outside of Instagram.

Disclosure of personal data to third parties / transfer to third countries

If you interact with us via our YouTube channel, your data will also be processed within the channel and will be visible to other visitors, depending on your settings in your YouTube account.
